It’s been a while since we had a look at our flagship products side by side, so here goes:

How Does It Work?

EnviroCool arrives flat packed and can be assembled in seconds.

It is made from paper-based panels with a hexagonal core structure. This is sandwiched between two, heavier paper liners. This structure creates a rigid barrier of still air which then divides the panels into multiple sealed air convection pockets. The overall thermal conductivity is similar to that of still air, with the smaller air pockets minimising energy transfer via convection due to the restricted air movement.

Blinded by science? Simply, it performs like an unventilated air gap.

Temperature Profiling

At Hydropac, we use different ‘temperature profiles’ set to a constant temperature throughout the test, these are:

• Constant 30˚c for an exceptionally unlikely hot Summer’s day
• Constant 25˚c for a very hot Summer day
• Constant 20˚c for an good average UK Summer day
• Constant 10˚c for an average winter’s day

EnviroCool has been proven to work efficiently through all of this testing, maintaining a constant temperature with the use of ice packs throughout.

Recycle-Air’s Recyclable Benefits

• The LDPE liner is made from RESY 4 symbol material (RESY = recycling symbol from a German recycling system)
• Waterproof with a leak resistant bottom, so no damage to the box and no wastage of materials
• Recyclable instore at all major supermarkets
• “Double Bubble” cushioning layers ensure extra protection so shipments are always protected in transit and beyond.

How Does It Work?

Recycle-Air works using reflective white LDPE layers to maintain a constant temperature. These are on both sides with the “Double Bubble” insulation layers inside, sandwiched between the outer layers to provide insulation and cushioning.

End users of Recycle-Air can either take it to their local supermarket to be recycled (same as carrier bags) or they can wipe clean and reuse.

Temperature Profiling

Climate Chamber and customer own testing has proven that the Recycle-Air system will perform on a UK based ‘extreme’ peak summer temperature profile for more than 24hrs and 96hrs during winter testing (held between +2˚c to +8˚).

Reflective-Air was launched to provide a wide range of distributors and sectors with a temperature-controlled packaging solution in order to send temperature sensitive products with confidence through the postal network. This include Pharmaceutical suppliers, Food distributors, Biotech companies and the Medical sector.

Reflective-Air has eco-benefits and works for both chilled and frozen items.

How Does It Work?

Reflective Air uses emissivity to provide insulation through reflection and trapped air.

Both the 2D (single layer) and 3D (single/double layer) bags use a heavy grade LDPE sealed bubble which is sandwiched between a foil-based laminate both inside and out. They both also have a self-seal adhesive strip to ensure full sealing.

• The 2D system is available in one size, Large, and can be spread out into the bottom of the box to form a gusseted bottom.
• The 3D system is a ready formed 3D box bottom bag. This is available with both single- and double-layer bubble insulate and double foil laminate.

Temperature Profiling

• Climate Chamber and customer own testing has proven, that the 2D system will perform on a UK based ‘extreme’ peak summer temperature profile for more than 24hrs and 96hrs during winter testing (held between +2˚c to +8˚).
• The 3D System; using the same ‘Extreme’ summer temperature profile, performed to a minimum 48hrs between +2˚c to +8˚ and in addition to a minimum of 24hrs below -12˚c, making them perfect for Frozen food deliveries.
